My story
I worked as a cover supervisor in a secondary school in Newham; one of the most deprived boroughs in East London, but filled with the rich diversity of the many ethnic minorities and the battles they face daily to survive
I was forced to raise a formal grievance with the White Head Teacher upon realising that I was not being treated in the same way as my White counterparts.
After the death of #GeorgeFloyd, I had an ‘awakening’ and wondered whether having frank, but #DifficultConversations with various individuals who had influenced my life, would bring about #equality, #understanding and most importantly #change.
